The Reason I Watched Jimmy Fallon Last Night....

Because I was up working on this little hat! Though...I hardly looked up, except when I started over. Just call me a night owl now...until tonight, when I go to bed at 10:30 to make up for last night;)

So fun:)

Imaginative Play

I've started construction on my first three custom creations sold on Sweet & Spontaneous, and while waiting for measurements and color selections, had a lot of fun making these sweet little tags with our vintage typewriter and wool felt!

In other news...Craigslist strikes again; a 63 piece interlocking foam floor mat with almost 2 full alphabet sets and numbers 0-9. We are very proud of this deal...1/3 the cost of a new product of this size, and Sylvie seems to really enjoy all the cushy space:) I like it because there is plenty of room to stretch out next to her without tearing up my knees on the hardwood floors. Denney likes it because he can spell out secret messages with the letters. So far we have Sylvie, Kat(short for her middle name Katarina), and Keegan. Lots of mischeif coming our way, I'm sure. I believe we have 2 o's and 2 p's, if you can figure out what that spells.

Sweet & Spontaneous

TaDa...
I started a modest online store today Sweet&Spontaneous on Etsy; in it I will sell all sorts of adorable handmade goodies. And I'm excited to get creative! Some of the artists on Etsy are amazing, and provide wonderful inspiration; you should check it out.

I got the idea after I made Sylvie's hat, and she got lots of compliments and a few suggestions about selling it were made. So, I thought I'd give it a shot, and give myself a creative outlet and keep my hands from getting idle ( ahem...internet time wasting:).

So, my first item for sale is the beautiful winter hat; available now. My next item will be a Diapees & Wipes holder, though I'll probably have to call it something different. And I'll go crazy with the goods just in time for the holidays...hint hint!

If you should like anything you see on the site, and you're local...contact me to purchase so we can get around the shipping fees:)

This Week's Top 3...

I love happy things. Warm, soft, cute, happy, lighthearted, and sweet things. So this week, I've enjoyed many happy things, and I want to share with you my Top 3:)

1. Making a hat for little Sylvie.
It was ridiculously easy and turned out surprisingly well. I crocheted the hat, used a handmade fabric flower left over from our wedding, and a pink button from an old shirt. If I hadn't started over about 5 times, it probably would've been a 30 minute project. Cute.

2. Green Smoothies.
Last week, I bought a Vita-Mix super duper power blender. I got a great deal, and have really loved making green smoothies every day since I got it (50% fruit, 50% vegetables). I have also made baby food (went basically uneaten), and a yummy potato soup. I even pawned off some green smoothie on Denney 2 or 3 times in the past week. Baby steps.
The green smoothies qualify as one of my top three b/c they are very delicious and give me lots of energy! Also important to note, I added a couple Reeses cups a day to my diet in honor of fall, and that makes me happy too!

3. Dan in Real Life
One of my all time favorite movies! I got to watch it last weekend while I worked away on the little hat. I love this movie for its actors, characters, music, story, and the house where the movie is filmed. An all around feel good movie. You'll laugh and smile lots! Actually I didn't finish it last weekend...maybe I'll 'work' on that today:) Oh, and if you have your volume turned up, you're listening to some soundtrack music from the movie. Enjoy!
